Unit Converter - Bengali Numerals

Convert between units of length, weight, temperature, volume, area, time, and more with Bengali numeral system support.

A free online unit converter for length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, time, data storage, energy, pressure, and angle. Convert between metric and imperial units instantly as you type — no need to press a convert button. Handles the tricky cases correctly: temperature conversions include the 32-degree offset (C to F is not simple multiplication), and volume conversions distinguish between US gallons (3.785 L) and Imperial gallons (4.546 L). Pin your most-used units for quick access. Supports traditional regional units like hath, gaz, tola, and ser used in South Asia.

About This Numeral System

Bengali numerals (০ through ৯) are used in Bangladesh and in the Indian states of West Bengal and Tripura by over 230 million Bengali (Bangla) speakers — making it one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. These numerals appear in Bengali-language newspapers, textbooks, government forms, and financial documents across the region. This calculator displays results in Bengali numerals for users who work in Bangla.

How This Calculator Works

Unit Conversion: Result = Input × (source factor / target factor)

Each unit category (length, weight, volume, etc.) has a base unit and conversion factors. The calculator converts the input to the base unit, then from the base unit to the target unit. Temperature is a special case: C to F uses F = C × 9/5 + 32, because the zero points differ.

Worked Examples

Input: Convert 10 miles to kilometres

Result: 10 miles = 16.0934 km (1 mile = 1.60934 km)

Input: Convert 100°C to Fahrenheit

Result: F = 100 × 9/5 + 32 = 212°F (boiling point of water)

Key Features

  • Length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, time, data, energy, pressure
  • Instant conversion as you type
  • Pinnable favourite units

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my temperature conversion show a different result than expected?

Temperature conversions are not simple multiplication like other units. Celsius to Fahrenheit is F = C × 9/5 + 32, not F = C × 1.8. The offset of 32 is the most common source of error. Also, negative temperatures work correctly: -40°C = -40°F, which is the point where the two scales meet. The calculator handles all of these correctly, but if you are comparing with a tool that uses a simplified formula, the results will differ.

How do I convert between units that use different measurement standards (US vs Imperial)?

The most confusing case is volume: a US gallon is 3.785 litres while an Imperial (UK) gallon is 4.546 litres — a 20% difference. Similarly, a US pint is 473 ml while an Imperial pint is 568 ml. The calculator defaults to US units. If you need Imperial units, check the category label — where both exist, they are listed separately.

What unit categories are supported?

The unit converter supports length, weight/mass, temperature, volume, area, speed, time, data storage, energy, pressure, and angle conversions.

How accurate are the conversions?

All conversions use internationally recognised conversion factors. Results are displayed to up to 10 significant figures.

Are Bengali numerals the same as Hindi (Devanagari) numerals?

No. While they share a common Brahmi ancestor, Bengali numerals (০–৯) and Devanagari numerals (०–९) have distinct glyph forms. For example, Bengali 3 (৩) looks different from Devanagari 3 (३). Use the Bengali mode for Bangla documents and the Hindi mode for Hindi documents.
